About This Program
Access to the Arts is a valuable tool for young minds.Not only do the arts develop imaginations, creativity and self-expression in youth, the arts also strengthen children’s problem solving and critical thinking skills. . Both are needed for success in school and in life.
The Club has a number of partnerships within Lorain County’s creative and performing arts community. Plus, the Clubs have a number of partnerships within Lorain County’s creative and performing arts community. These partnerships allow us to give children opportunities to develop their skills or discover new talents year-round at all our Club locations.
Community Arts Outreach Initiative: Through the CAOI, a certified art therapist teaches a variety of art techniques, culminating with a gallery exhibition of student art. Its Artists In Residence program brings local artists to the Clubs so that Club members can intensively engage with new types of media or techniques, such as puppetry, caricature, and ceramics. At Desich Family Campus, Oberlin and Elyria Clubs.
Digital Arts: Thanks to Digital Arts Studios at our Elyria and Desich Family Campus sites, the Club provides members with many opportunities to flex their creative muscles.
