Character & Leadership

Development

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain County firmly believe that today's members are tomorrow's future leaders. That is why each Club offers programs to build the confidence, dignity and pride of our members. Leadership training, community service outings and volunteer opportunities ensure that all Club members discover their own self-worth while making a difference.

Keystone Clubs & Torch Clubs exist at each of our sites. Keystone Club (ages 14-18) and Torch Club (ages 11-13) create community service projects and help staff in planning programming for teenagers. Projects range from neighborhood cleanups to raising money for food drives.

The Youth of the Year program celebrates youth who have overcome enormous odds and demonstrated exceptional character and accomplishments. These deserving young people are recognized for service to their Club and community, academic performance and contributions to their family. Youth of the Year honorees are shining examples and living proof that great futures start at Boys & Girls Clubs.
