Sports & Recreation

About This Program

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain County, sports and fitness has long been popular among our members. Whether through a team or individual sport, children and teens gain valuable life lessons, develop new interests and build self-confidence and character while participating in our recreation programs.

Triple Play

BGCA’s first comprehensive health and wellness program, developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Triple Play strives to improve the overall health of Club members ages 6-18 by increasing their daily physical activity, teaching them good nutrition and helping them develop healthy relationships.

RBI

RBI is a Major League Baseball initiative whose mission is to increase urban and inner city youth interest and participation in baseball and softball by re-introducing, reviving, and rebuilding America’s pastime in under-served communities.

Jr. RBI

Jr. RBI is designed to teach the fundamentals of baseball and softball to children ages 5 to 12. It also serves as a feeder program for the RBI program.

Lorain County Metro Parks

Through an ongoing partnership with Lorain County Metro Parks, our members learn swimming skills during the school year and outdoor recreational skills during the summer. Summer Camp participants also have the opportunity to explore their local natural environment during nature hikes through the Metro Parks.
