The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lorain County (BGCLC) has been serving the community’s youth since 1999, when Mike Conibear transformed a small space within an Oberlin city school building into a club for kids. Since then, we have expanded to 18 locations in 5 different cities throughout the county but our mission has never changed.
We are the largest youth-serving agency in the Northeast Ohio. Everyday, over 900 of Lorain County’s most disadvantaged youth stream through our doors and learn from positive role models while feeling safe and secure and participating in life-changing programming.
We have more than 80 full-and-part-time employees and nearly 100 volunteers. It is our staff who help BGCLC youth succeed. They are led by a top-notch executive team and a Board of Trustees, and are guided by the same passion and mission that drove Mike Conibear so many years ago: reach and impact the youth who need us most.
